2026 National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

Across the country, communities are celebrating National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (NPSTW) 2026 during the week of April 12-18, recognizing the vital role 9-1-1 dispatchers and communication professionals play in emergency response. Observed annually during the second full week of April, this national event highlights the dedication, professionalism, and resilience of those who serve as the first point of contact in times of crisis. From coordinating life-saving responses to providing calm reassurance to callers, telecommunicators remain an essential link between the public and emergency services.

Here in Ohio, the Ohio Chapter of NENA is proudly honoring the men and women who serve in public safety communications centers across the state. The Ohio Chapter of NENA expresses deep appreciation for Ohio’s telecommunicators, acknowledging their unwavering commitment to protecting lives and supporting first responders. Throughout the week, agencies and communities are hosting appreciation events, sharing stories of excellence, and recognizing the behind-the-scenes heroes who make a difference every day.

As the demand for emergency services continues to grow, so does the importance of highly trained and dedicated telecommunicators. The Ohio Chapter of NENA encourages the public to take a moment this week to thank these professionals for their service and recognize the critical role they play in keeping communities safe.
