GIS Professional(s) of the Year
This award honors exceptional GIS projects that improve emergency communications and public safety operations, particularly through enhanced NG9-1-1 readiness, accurate GIS data, and innovative mapping technologies. Successful nominees demonstrate measurable gains in call routing efficiency, location accuracy, and real-time coordination between agencies, resulting in better emergency response outcomes. Note: This award can either be an individual or team award.

THE OHIO GOLD STAR AWARDS
The Ohio Chapters of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) and the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials, International (APCO) are pleased to announce the continuation of a program for Public Safety Communications personnel in Ohio. Both Chapters recognize the value of the important contributions that Public Safety Communications professionals make to the safety and well-being of our citizens throughout the state.
To publicly honor the outstanding individual achievements and contributions of the men and women who are the backbone of Ohio’s 9-1-1 system, the Chapters have initiated the “Ohio 9-1-1 Gold Star Award Program.”​
