Position Summary

Conference Volunteers play a vital role in supporting the successful execution of the NENA Conference. Volunteers assist with event operations, attendee support, and logistics while gaining access to conference programming and networking opportunities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with registration check-in and attendee support 

  • Provide directions and general event information to participants 

  • Support session rooms (monitor attendance, assist speakers if needed) 

  • Help with setup, breakdown, and general logistics 

  • Distribute materials and manage conference resources 

  • Maintain a professional and welcoming environment for all attendees 

 

Time Commitment

  • Minimum shift: 4 hours per day

  • Volunteers must complete a minimum of 4 hours before receiving any conference-related benefits 

  • Volunteers working 8 or more hours may be eligible for additional reimbursement (see benefits) 

 

Volunteer Benefits

  • Complimentary access to conference sessions equal to hours worked (minimum 4 hours required) 

  • Meals provided, including: 

    • Daily breakfast 

    • Daily lunch 

    • Afternoon refreshments 

  • Parking reimbursement or provided parking passes (designated locations only) 

  • Opportunity for reimbursement of one-day registration fee (if eligibility requirements are met) 

 

Additional Information

  • Volunteers do not need to be NENA members 

  • Compensation and access are valid only for the current conference

  • Benefits are non-transferable

  • Access to receptions may require prior approval 

  • Reimbursement requests must be submitted in writing within designated deadlines 

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods 

  • Ability to lift light materials (up to ~25 lbs occasionally)
